Most services make one spouse the customer and the other an afterthought. Here you each get your own login to the same case, so you see the same answers, the same documents and the same progress. Either of you can start it and invite the other. Nobody retypes the other's income, and nobody has to ask what was filed or when.

Custody, support and alimony are the three places an uncontested divorce quietly goes wrong. divvi walks you through each one using Utah's own rules — the income-shares child support formula, the statutory alimony factors, and a parent-time schedule covering holidays, exchanges and school breaks. Every figure shows its working, so you can watch what changes when an income or an overnight count changes, before either of you agrees to it.

A decree only governs what it actually says, and the arguments that send people back to court two years later are almost always about something nobody wrote down. The library holds 44 optional clauses drawn from Utah practice — pets, travel and passports, new partners, extracurricular costs, medical reimbursements, tax exemptions, relocation notice — each already written in language a court accepts. Add the ones that apply to you and skip the rest.

Every document your case needs, generated from the answers you already gave and stacked in the order a Utah clerk expects to receive them: the petition, civil cover sheet, non-public information sheets, the domestic relations injunction, financial declarations, the certificate of divorce, and the decree itself. If you have children, the child support worksheet and parenting plan are generated with it. Nothing is a blank template you fill in afterwards.

Both of you sign in the browser, in your own time, from wherever you are — no printer, no scanner, and no coordinating an evening to sit at the same table. Each signature is recorded against the document it belongs to, and the signed copies stay in your account.

Utah does not let anyone open a divorce case online — not us, not an attorney, not the state's own tool — so the last step is yours. divvi tells you which district court your county files in, what the clerk charges, what to bring, and how to ask for a fee waiver if the fee is a problem. When you have to email the clerk, there is a written template for it, including the awkward ones like chasing a packet that has gone quiet.

Utah imposes a 30-day wait between filing and a judge signing. Your dashboard tracks where you are in it, what is finished, and what the next action is — and when the wait is over it generates the second packet, the findings of fact, the decree and the statement of compliance, rather than leaving you to work out that something more was needed.

A signed decree is the start of the admin, not the end of it, and it is where most people are left on their own. Your checklist is built from your own case, so it only shows the steps that apply to you: restoring a former name across the SSA, DMV, passport and your bank; updating every beneficiary designation; closing or separating joint accounts; protecting your credit on the debts you split; sorting health insurance and your filing status; and updating a will. Deeds, refinancing and retirement steps appear only if your case has a house or a retirement account in it.
