Effective June 27, 2026
divvi is a document preparation service based in Utah. We help individuals prepare legal documents for uncontested divorce proceedings. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice.
Questions about this policy: privacy@divviutah.com
We are intentional about data minimization. Here is exactly what we store and why:
| Full name | Yes — required for court documents |
| Email address | Yes — account and communication |
| Mailing address | Yes — required for court documents |
| Date of birth | Yes — required for court documents |
| Income & employment | Yes — required for child support calculations |
| Asset names & values | Yes — required for property division |
| Account numbers (last 4 only) | Yes — for identification only; full account numbers are never collected or stored |
| Social Security Numbers (full) | No — SSNs are entered and processed in your browser only, never transmitted to our servers |
| Social Security Numbers (last 4) | Yes — stored as a reference identifier only |
| Children's information | Yes — names, DOBs, custody arrangements required for court forms |
| Payment information | Processed by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers |
| Browser/device data | Basic analytics only (page views, no personal identifiers) |
Utah courts require Social Security numbers on a sealed Non-Public Information Sheet (Form 1051GEJ). This form is never part of the public record.
Here is how divvi handles SSNs:
For bank accounts, retirement accounts, investment accounts, mortgages, car loans, and credit cards, we collect only the last 4 digits of the account number. Full account numbers are never requested, accepted, or stored.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described below.
| Supabase | Database and file storage — data encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+) |
| Vercel | Hosting platform — processes request data to serve the application |
| Stripe | Payment processing — governed by Stripe's privacy policy; we share only what Stripe requires to process a transaction |
| Anthropic (Claude AI) | Mediation transcript extraction only, when you explicitly upload a transcript — no data is used to train Anthropic's models |
| Utah state courts | When you file: your case documents are submitted to the court per normal filing procedures |
We retain your case data for as long as your account is active and for 90 days after your case is marked complete, after which sensitive case data is automatically deleted. You may request deletion at any time.
Audit logs (records of signing, document generation, and other significant actions) are retained for 7 years as required by document preparation service recordkeeping standards.
Under the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (Utah Code § 13-61-101 et seq.), you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@divviutah.com. We will respond within 45 days.
In the event of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you within 30 days as required by the Utah Protection of Personal Information Act (Utah Code § 13-44-101 et seq.).
divvi is intended for adults. We collect information about minor children only as required for court forms — names, dates of birth, and custody arrangements. This information is not used for any other purpose.
When we update this policy we will update the effective date above. For material changes we will notify you by email. Continued use of divvi after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
