Is this mediation?
No. Mediation is a live session with a qualified human mediator in the room with both of you. divviResolve is structured negotiation you each do privately, on your own schedule, assisted by AI that knows Utah's statutes. It is a step you can take before a mediation, not a replacement for one — a mediator is a person, and Resolve is not pretending to be one.
What does it cost, and what if it doesn't work?
divviResolve is included — it comes with divvi mediation and any modification, and on your own divorce it runs free-first, so there is no separate charge to try it. Anything you settle carries into your paperwork, and anything still open becomes a short list your mediator can start from if you book a live session.
Does my spouse have to use divvi too?
Yes. Resolve needs both sides to answer for it to propose anything workable — a negotiation with one participant is just a form. divvi sends your spouse an invite to start their side.
Does the AI decide who's right?
No. It proposes options grounded in Utah law and how comparable cases resolve, and both of you choose. Nothing is settled unless you both pick it. A term neither of you accepts stays on the open list.
When is Resolve the wrong tool?
If there has been abuse, if you're afraid of your spouse, if there's an active protective order, or if one of you is hiding money — negotiation is not the right process and we'll say so. Talk to a lawyer first. If your spouse simply won't participate at all, Resolve has nothing to work with either.
