Not the same as divorce mediation. A modification is scoped to the specific term you're changing, so the allowance is 3 hours for $1,000 rather than the six a full divorce settlement carries. Questions
Do I have to try divviResolve first?
No — you can book a mediator directly. Many people start with divviResolve anyway: it is $500, it settles a good share of modification disputes on its own, and if you do end up booking a mediator the $500 comes off this price in full.
Why is this different from divviMediate for divorce?
Scope and price. A modification is usually one or two changed terms rather than a full settlement, so the allowance is 3 hours for $1,000 instead of six. The hours work the same way — yours to spend across as many meetings as you need, not one sitting.
What happens if we run past 3 hours?
Additional time is billed at $300 per hour at the then-current rate. Most modification sessions — narrower in scope than a full divorce — finish well inside the included time.
What are divvi's mediators qualified to do?
Every mediator in the divvi network has completed domestic mediation training and mediates Utah family law matters. We verify each mediator's qualifications individually before they join the network, and we'll tell you who you're working with before your session.
What if we still can't agree after the session?
You move to a contested hearing. divvi can connect you with a Utah family law attorney for the remaining disputed terms.
